Vulnerable Truths
As I have gotten older, I have realized that holidays can just be hard. The days can bring up hidden feelings or lonely thoughts. However, there is also power in embracing these emotions. Instead of letting them overtake your day, make space for them. This approach is most beneficial.
This Father's Day, I know it could be difficult. Whether you have lost your father or a child, you're missing a father figure, or just feeling alone; just know it's okay to let yourself be vulnerable. No matter your choice of celebration, be honest with yourself about how you feel. Being vulnerable and honest helps you embrace holidays and how they may make you feel!
A Love Letter to My Dad
Lastly, I couldn't end the deep dive without a love letter to my own dad this Father's Day!
Dad,
Happy Father's Day! I am beyond thankful for all that you do for me and how you support me through every aspect of my life. You give me so much, love me so much, and make my life better. I am beyond blessed to have you as my dad, my movie best friend, my football ride or die, and my Godly inspiration. I will never have enough words to express how much I love you, but I do want you to know that I see all that you do for me and all that you work for us. I hope you have a great Father's Day, I love you forever!
-Your Daughter
This Father's Day, I encourage you to make time to recognize the Father figures in your life in whatever way that matters to you. If you want to leave your own love letter to your dad in the comments, go ahead, and share the post so they can see! I hope you all have a day full of love! Talk to you next week!
